The parquet blocks have been fitted above a combination of 9mm plywood and Mapei Renovation self levelling compound in order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge. Each block has been fitted tongue to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Bona R848T Adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the floorspace was masked using a combination of 22mm solid oak lacquered flatplate and white primed MDF scotia, whilst solid oak radiator roses were fixed to the base of the radiator pipework.
The job was complete with the fittings of solid oak lacquered door profiles to mask the cuts made to the parquet around the perimeter of the fireplace, whilst also used to transition each fitted room into the main hallway.
